Campground Boards

This page contains resources related to management of the three campground properties owned by Community of Christ in Michigan. The presiding bishopric for Community of Christ delegates authority for management of these properties (Blue Water Campground, Park of the Pines, and Sanford Campground) to locally elected campground boards that follow the Michigan Campground Operating policy and other applicable church policies in additional to federal, state, and local legal requirements.

Campground boards are assisted by standing and special committees, which can include Community of Christ members and friends who are not board members. Volunteers are greatly appreciated to help maintain and improve campground properties! Meetings of the Combined Campgrounds Executive Committee (CCEC) in 2026 are scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 15 at 3:00pm and Sunday, Sept. 27 at 7:00pm via Zoom. The CCEC consists of the officers from each campground board, the mission center financial officer, mission center president, and field apostle (or their designees). Meetings are chaired by the mission center financial officer and the CCEC is empowered to develop and revise policies and procedures that apply to all campgrounds and act on other questions and matters, such as scheduling, strategic planning, and use of shared resources, which may impact all campground properties.

All board members are strongly encouraged to read through the entire file, take advantage of training links on page 18, and refer to these materials when questions arise.
