Congregations are communities of disciples, and they form the fundamental unit of the church’s administrative, ministerial, and missional life. Congregations gather frequently, preferably at least weekly, to engage in worship, education, fellowship, and other preparation for mission. Out of a common sense of vision, each congregation seeks to engage in significant missional ministries and together celebrates life as a gift from God as caring, service, prayer, and love are offered and received. Formally organized local units needing extra support or assistance in their early years of development may be organized as emerging congregations. Some brick-and-mortar congregations also offer online and/or hybrid gatherings.

New Expressions describes expressions of Community of Christ which are new ways of being the church. Leaders who are vibrant, motivated and focused on creating community connections are wanted! Michigan Mission Center leadership is ready to support any new expressions of ministry you might be considering. God Without Boundaries (Online)

An informal online gathering like a coffee break with God and each other, meeting Monday afternoons at 1:00 ET. It’s a relaxed time together as we share stories of faith and love, looking for those God moments in our daily living. All stories are gratefully accepted, no judgments allowed. Typically we will enjoy a short video, a scripture and prayer. We may have starter questions, but the conversations go where they want to go. All are invited to join!
Sanctuary (Online)
Sanctuary is an online youth group that meets on Zoom every Monday at 7:00pm ET. Each week, we play a game and have a short devotion. All youth in grades 7-12 are welcome! Text cofcmi to 84576 to receive text reminders and updates!
Wednesday Small Group (Online)

This small, diverse group of spiritual friends from around Michigan and beyond meets via Zoom on Wednesdays, 7pm Eastern. Our aim is to build authentic spiritual friendships through informal conversation and spiritual practices using a stress-free small-group model. We creatively explore the lectionary scripture for the upcoming Sunday by asking honest questions and sharing personal perspectives. It’s a judgement-free, supportive place to grow and explore. Little Fish (Online)

Little Fish is an online youth group for elementary aged kids. We talk about Bible stories, how to treat others, caring about ourselves and learning about God’s love. Little Fish meets for about 30 mins every Monday night at 7:00pm on Zoom. Contact Linda for the meeting link.
