Journey House

The Community of Christ Campus Ministry Center in East Lansing, MI is located on the bank of the Red Cedar River near the campus of Michigan State University. The historic district property has been operated by Community of Christ since 2000. Previously managed by a board of directors for student-based community living, the “Journey House” now provides living space for youth transitioning from the foster care system to independent living in the community. Community of Christ partners with Samaritas which refers short-term residents and supports the young adults in transition with case management and mentoring services. The facility is also the meeting location for the East Lansing Community of Christ congregation and provides office, library, storage, and meeting space for Michigan Mission Center employees and ministries.

Rent from residents and generous support from the East Lansing congregation and a few individuals and congregations throughout Michigan covers most of the annual operating costs for the property (insurance, utilities, snow plowing, repairs & maintenance, supplies, licenses & permits). Donations are appreciated to help with larger maintenance projects, capital improvements, and paying off the internal loan balance held by the Michigan Mission Center. Visit the Donate Page for information on how to make a contribution (be sure to designate the Campus Ministry Center Fund) through Community of Christ e-Tithting, PayPal, or by check.
