Recommendations for Ordination
As you consider disciples in your congregation for potential priesthood calls please refer to the Ministry and Priesthood document. The expectations outlined as Covenant Principles for Faith Priesthood Ministry should be evident in the life of a potential priesthood member. Several of the principles will require your subjective opinion, but modeling generosity as a regular contributor to mission tithes (local, mission center, and worldwide) according to true capacity and being a Registered Children and Youth Worker should both be verified through Shelby. You can work with your Congregation Financial Officer to check these items or contact Dianna Vanderkarr for assistance.
When you submit a recommendation for ordination the Mission Center President Team will work together and with the assistance of World Church Ministers to prayerfully consider the call. If additional questions arise a team member will contact you to engage in further dialogue. When the call is approved by the Mission Center President Team and cleared by the First Presidency you will receive information on presenting the call to the candidate and the requirements needing to be met for ordination. Please be sure to carefully review this information and verify all requirements with Dianna Vanderkarr prior to scheduling the ordination.
Please be encouraged to reach out and let us know how the Spirit is moving in the lives of your congregation members. Please feel free at any point in the process of submitting a priesthood call to contact Dianna Vanderkarr to ask questions or just share what you are thinking and feeling. She can work with you through the administrative process when you contact her.
