Course Description
Yes, faith and politics can go together. The issues are not as one-sided as you might think. Before there were parties and partisanship, the Prophets testified of God’s justice in the world. Our Gospel writers witnessed to the Messiah’s coming and the Kingdom of God. This class is for conservatives and liberals, libertarians and progressives. First, we will define faith and politics. Then, we will consider God’s politics as revealed in scripture. We will feel, think, pray and dialogue. We will ask hard questions and you’ll leave with a sense of how faith in God’s politics, Community of Christ witness, and your own politics fit into faith and political world.

Preparatory Reading:
You will likely enjoy these important books. Start reading early. Take time to enjoy them. Take notes, highlight, and write in them. They will not only help you think about faith and politics, but strengthen your sermons and scripture study.
